super.deep.rest is the first album released by musician David Pressler under the moniker super_dpressd. The intention of the super_dpressd project is to explore live improvisation in dance music generally and footwork specifically. Each song is a recording of different performances layered on top of one another through the Roland SP-404SX and MC-707. This approach is not intended to be a reaction to the practice of writing music "in the box"; it is a love letter to the irreplaceable and deeply human phenomena of impulse and intuition.

David Pressler, a.k.a. super_dpressd is a New Jersey based musician and producer, channeling a long-standing love of footwork, house and hip-hop. The super_dpressd project began in 2020, with a few scattered live performances and many hours spent in quarantine tinkering with his SP-404 sampler and its potential for adding improvisation to music usually written entirely within a digital audio workstation.
